Bad Lands National Park http://www.nps.gov/badl/ is like a moon scape. Pictures just cannot capture the images and the shades of color. Best seen just before closing or early in the morning.
If you have gotten this close you would have been seeing signs for Wall Drug for the last few hundred miles. Worth a look but lunch is much better and cheaper across the street!
