Great alternative instead of the boring tunnel. The road seems like it has not been repaved since the tunnel opened. Also it is pretty narrow. But very, very Nice!

This route takes you up the Tuddal valley and over the mountain, just close to Gaustadtoppen, and then down the hair-pin sig-sag road to Rukjan. The trip is fun, and spectacular. Along the trip you should stop at Tuddal mountain hotel (www.tuddal.no) for a nice stop-over or just lunch.
