Very enjoyable run with a real mix of fast open roads, long sweeping bends with good visibility, and tight and twisty hill/forest sections. Traffic through Malton was the only downside, but wasnt enough to spoil the route. Loved it.

A good scenic route from the M62 to the North York Moors and the Yorkshire TT, if you still have enough energy left after this demanding run. Leave the M62 @ Howden take A614 s/p Driffield. Very fast stretch of road, beware of mobile cameras on this road. Locals do tend to warn you though. Go through Holme-on-Spalding Moor and Middleton-on-the-Wolds. At the roundabout just after Bainton, go straight on, to join B1248. Great fast road with some exhilarating bends. At Wetwang you turn left onto A166 for a short while through the village, then turn right to rejoin B1248, this takes you to Malton. Go straight through the middle of town to join the B1257. A bit of a change now, this road is a bit more twisty and bumpier, but has some great scenery and it takes you all the way up to the A170. Turn right here to go into Helmsley for a well deserved cuppa. Also if you have never tried one, go to the bakers at the entrance to the castle and get one of their Yorkshire Curd Tarts, worth the journey in its self.
