    Take the A4042 all the way to Abergavenny, good straights then really goo twisty parts, stop at the Oasis cafe for a brew and a chat wit at leasst 30-50 bikers (or up to 200 on a sunny weekend). Then take the A40 to Brecon.

    Some really good open sections on what is actually a major route (hence it can be quite busy), good surface and good visibility make this well worth a look.

    You need a clear run to enjoy this ride as overtaking opportunities are few at the beginning. Starts off tight but opens-up later. Tightest bends are signified by shell grip. Some of the more difficult bends have seen bikes run out of road! See ride video in the link

    A48 : Westbury-on-Severn - Chepstow

    A pleasant rolling national road running along next to the Severn. Some speed cameras at the Gloucester end but nice and rural apart from that. (I rode it late morning on a Friday). Could be a different story at peak times.

    A really good stretch of twisty tarmac which begins by the A44 at one end. Not much in the way of spectacular scenary but a great blast and some good corners shouldn't disappoint.

    Very nice road, some sheep in parts during the spring and summer that can only be described as suicidal, odd patch of gravel here and there.

    Nice way to get up to the A465 heads of the valley and Brecon

    Great views! Stop in the carpark next to the keepers pond at the top of the mountain for a great view over Gilwern and Govilon - then barrel it down the mountain - just watch out for the sheep and sharp left hand then right hand hairpins at the bottom of the hill.

    Ride from llantwit major to Ogmore direction for the best route - look to the left for coastal views. Stop in southerdown in the top car park for a spectacular view or ride downt he steep road to the beach and Dunraven park. If your not stoppin...

    real good road combin with the B4235 for some real good rides this lane has a blind left then right hander downhill say good bye to your sliders and hero pegs just as good in reverse happy riding!!!!!!

    B4358 between Beulah and Newbridge on Wye. You can do the route from either direction from the A470 at Newbridge or off the A483 at Beulah.     Minor road over the Black Mountains. Pop into Llanthony Priory for a drink. Road is narrow tight and twisty first half and once at the top opens out to spectacular views. Often used on Top Gear for helicopter shots of flash motors.

    A great country road with plenty of open sweeping corners, nice tight hairpins and a few great open straights to get some speed.

    Ride it a few times back and forth and youll find the places where you can open the throttle around corners and over crests.

    Brilliant roads with sweeping curves, tight corners, good surfaces - especially from Chepstow to Monmouth along the east side of the beautiful Wye valley. Stop off for a coffee at Tintern Abbey ruins for a break.

    this is good if you have just come over cearphilly mountain and you are looking for a good road back to cardiff. there are fast corners, hairpins and long straights. be careful of tractors at the Newport. the six bells pub is a nice stop as well.

    My favourite local route, I simply can't get enough of it. It has everything, which is its selling point to me and its always nice to stop off at the Steel Horse Cafe and chill!
